for gaza

Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna look you right in the face
Better get yourself together darlin'
Join the human race
How in the world you gonna see
Laughin' at fools like me
Who on earth d'you think you are
A super star
Well, right you are

Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Ev'ryone come on

Instant Karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you off your feet
Better recognize your brothers
Ev'ryone you meet
Why in the world are we here
Surely not to live in pain and fear
Why on earth are you there
When you're ev'rywhere
Come and get your share

Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
On and on and on on and on

~ John Lennon

  4. oh, my. the real deal.

    these are beautiful.

it's incredible what's going on. absolutely unbelievable that this is okay with the powers that be. It's all about dehumanization. how many times?

thank you for reminding me of this lyric, too.

thank you kelly... i love the pages you've been doing lately. i say every little bit helps...

hey chris, well, we can thank michelle (3rdeyemuse) for reminding us of these lyrics. i read the words 'shrine on' on her blog last night and immediately went to 'instant karma' in my mind... which led to the words being here with these two pages. i know that peace is your word for the year, so i was thinking about you when i was painting the gaza page...

thank you, jeane! i painted him first and couldn't figure out what his name/role was. after i painted the heart i said 'ooohhhhhhh'.

grrl, 'uhm' is good and much appreciated!

hey karin, yeah, ah life... and thank you!

thank you, jo! i'm thinking these days of how this blog can be not only a place to share my work, but also a place to 'speak' about what i feel is important...

  10. Jeane's Right!

That Messenger Bird is so amazing... made me stop, wanted to share my crumby muffin with it! I want to get to know him, where is he going, what will he do next... ahh, i mean She! Maybe you should do a story.

    A great post!
Chris is right about Dehuminization: like colonizing Africa, too; just re learned a bit about that this year.

The way change happens i think is one person at a time, and you are that one! I love your heart (all of them) (maybe some of us have more hearts).
    A burden and a gift! ! !!

    Peace.
    Shine on beautiful.

  20. That bird is so appealing! The gaza heart has made us all stop and think......so it goes to show one person can make a difference. How many people will focus on the situation even if it's for a few seconds or minutes because you decided to blog about it.
