I think all your people have secret lives, perhaps all people have secret lives? She works in the archives lost in the aisles of microfiche (by day) but after hours Ruth is a Shaman. She clutches her little bag of precious stones to her during the day. It's the only thing that keeps her sane until the evening. On impulse she had a heart tattooed on her cheek. She has never regretted it.
I agree with Zendot regarding secret lives; your people capture what I think is a universal truth about us, the living - we have secret lives and lives unlived that we chose to say, 'no, I'm going this way instead' and lives that we didn't choose that way but that non-choice was itself a choosing... love, sus
