I love Ima. I think in her former life she was a deer. She has a tattoo on her second toe of her left foot. She always wears brightly coloured silk. She can see sideways as well as in front so she never needs to turn her head. She hates sunlight and only goes out on cloudy days or in the evening. When she looks at you she knows exactly what you are thinking. Her favourite food is maraschino cherries.
She inherited her moss green hair from her grandmother on her father's side, who was know as the Green Witch of the Middle, but whom Ima simply called Gram.
She adorns herself with the jewels of her realm, sensuous wraps of vines and moss woven together, accented with feathers, tiny nuts and glittering pebbles embedded in the moss. Her lips and cheeks are stained with the juice of ripe woodland berries. She is of this world and beyond. She is Ima, mistress of the between.
Oh Ima please come to my forest and cover it with the colors of your checks so all my trees will be blooming and the moss green that covers the top of your head will spread on the ground so I can walk bare foot in the softness of moss. Hugs, Katelen

ReplyDeleteIma is amazing, Lynne. When I first saw her, I thought, she's a faerie child. I agree with everything our friends said about her, what more can I say?
