woodburning tool on page 3 of 'war and peace'

here we are at 1-11-11... that's a lot of oneness...

i found an old copy of 'war and peace' for $1 at a library sale a couple of months ago - it lays open beautifully whether you're on page 7 or 700. i started reading it around the solstice and finished it a couple of weeks later. now i'm going to draw and burn my way through it...

XO

  1. I spent that same period listening to the radio serial of War and Peace. A wonderful story. I look forward to seeing what you make of it :)

  3. I read the book a couple of years ago with the moral support of my book group women, and remember a most beautiful scene of a sleigh ride in the winter moonlight. Happy mark-making, sus

  5. Hi Lynne

I take my hat off to you.....

I have this book on my reading list but it keeps getting put to the bottom of the pile... One day perhaps, I like the idea of reading it with a book group like the lady above.

I have a link for you, a ceramic artist working here in the UK. I think that you will enjoy seeing her work,

As for Dick Blick..... The postage is very expensive, so I will keep on looking here in the UK, I have found Shiva oil sticks so far but no Casein paints.

  7. Dear LH, I just got my pogo! Did I ever mention I have ADD? So will there be a demo video on how to use this contraption? I guess it might have been wiser if I had asked that question first! lol, with love, janine

  9. Dear LH, After my post above I thought why not go to youtube and got the info I needed. I have to be shown how, I never could follow recipes either so there you go. Youtube was very helpful! Now I am going back a few posts to see what you said about removing the film. I'll let you know.

  15. War & Peace, a classic. My parents went to the premier in NYC so many years ago. It was 9 hours long!

Inspirational. Just do it. Wish my obligations didn't take so much out of me, that I would make art daily. I guess I should at least promise myself 5 minutes a day.:)
