    You know LH, I love wild roses so much that I saw one growing in an empty lot that was going to have a warehouse built on it. I dug it up and took it home and have planted and dug that rose up with every move. The fragrance is amazing and hypnotic! It has grown quite high and I have to cut it back every year but it always has a cascade of wonderfully scented roses! I would plant them all over my yard against the fence and out buildings if my husband would let me!

    roses are out here in sunny spots and just coming into bloom in others.

    Happy solstice to you too. It's our Winter solstice here in the land down under. I love this time of year, lots of fog and mists hanging over the hills. The trees covered in millions of precious water drops, sparkling like diamonds. Wild roses are beautiful. Our herb group collect the hips every year to make the restorative rose hip syrup.
